Superior Greenstone Association Community Living (SGACL) a non-profit organization that provides personal and residential support to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. SGACL believes that all persons should live in a state of dignity and share in all elements of living in our community.

Unfortunately, many of our clients are not able to easily access the multitude of natural resources we are thankful to have within the Greenstone region. Several activities that many in our region enjoy, such as fishing, camping or sitting on a beach are restricted for persons living without disabilities. However, SGACL has a unique opportunity to make these activities available to not only their clients but others in the region.

The SGACL was gifted an accessible waterfront property named Camp Auger. This camp was gifted with the intention to reduce barriers that those with disabilities face in accessing the wilderness. This property has served our clients well however, has started to deteriorate. Our dream is for Camp Auger to be a fully utilized space not only for our clients but for the community.

By restoring Camp Auger we will not only be providing the SGACL community the chance to share this piece of history with individuals in the community while securing a profit to assist the Association and give them the capacity to expand services to their clients. The vision for Camp Auger is to provide a fully accessible community resort and to promote an inclusive, barrier-free, and educational camping experience that everyone can enjoy. To expand beyond the stigma of serving only those individuals with disabilities; to envision Camp Auger benefiting and being accessible to the community as a whole.
